DURHAM, N.C. - The 15th-ranked Duke field hockey team will travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass., this weekend to take on 10th-ranked Boston College on Friday and 14th-ranked Boston University on Sunday. The contest versus the Eagles will begin at 7 p.m. while the Blue Devils' neutral-site matchup with the Terriers is set for a 12 p.m. start. Both contests will take place at the Newton Campus Turf Field.
Scouting the Eagles: Boston College heads into Friday's game with an overall record of 7-2, including a mark of 1-1 versus ACC opponents, as the Eagles defeated Virginia, 2-1, in their most recent outing. BC is led by 2006 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Bob Dirks, who leads the squad in points (17) on five goals and a team-leading seven assists. Chelsey Feole is tops on the team in goals with seven on the year. The Eagles return 10 letterwinners including eight starters from a 2006 squad that went 14-6 (2-3 ACC).
Series History: The all-time series between Duke and Boston College is knotted at 4-4, as the last meeting (Sept. 30, 2006) resulted in a 2-1 overtime victory for the Eagles in Durham, N.C.

Scouting the Terriers: Boston University heads into the weekend with a mark of 8-2 (0-0 America East), as the Terriers last posted a 3-0 win over Virginia on Sept. 23 in Charlottesville. Pam Spuehler leads BU in points (19) and assists (seven), while Sarah Shute is tops on the team in goals with seven on the season. The Terriers return 13 letterwinners including eight starters from a 2006 squad that went 14-7 (4-1 America East) and won a share of the conference regular season title as well as the tournament championship.
Series History: Duke leads the all-time series with Boston University, 3-2, as the Blue Devils last came away with a 4-1 win on Sept. 10, 2006, in, Durham, N.C.
Last Time Out: Last weekend, Duke fell to top-ranked North Carolina, 5-0, in Chapel Hill on Saturday, then posted a 4-1 win over Richmond on Sunday at Williams Field.
The Blue Devils allowed just one goal in the first half, a tally which came in the final 30 seconds of the stanza, but a high-scoring Tar Heel squad netted four goals in the second half to clinch a 5-0 win and remain perfect at 10-0 on the year. UNC out-shot Duke, 21-6, and also held the advantage on penalty corners, 9-3. Senior keeper Caitlin Williams was credited with seven saves, while Carolina starter Brianna O'Donnell notched one stop and Jackie Kintzer recorded two.
Duke rebounded the following day to post a 4-1 win over Richmond on Senior Day, as junior Marian Dickinson, freshman Susan Ferger and sophomores Lauren Amicucci and Lauren Miller each netted goals for the Blue Devils while Megan Thompson scored for the Spiders. Duke held the advantage in shots (23-13) and penalty corners (12-8). Williams recorded seven saves for the second consecutive game, while Richmond goalie Becca Weaver was credited with 13 stops.
Duke in the Rankings: The Blue Devils currently rank 15th in the STX/NFHCA Poll, released on Sept. 25. Archrival North Carolina took the top spot for the third straight week, as Maryland ranks second and Connecticut ranks third. Wake Forest sits at No. 4, while Michigan State moved up to No. 5. All six ACC schools are ranked in the top 20, as Boston College is listed at No. 10 and Virginia comes in at No. 19.
A Look Ahead: Duke will close out its home schedule on Oct. 6 versus defending NCAA Champion Maryland at 1 p.m. at Williams Field. The following weekend, the Blue Devils hit the road for Norfolk, Va., as Duke faces Longwood on Oct. 13 and Old Dominion on Oct. 14.
DUFH News & Notes: Junior Marian Dickinson leads Duke in points with 10, while classmate Laura Suchoski ranks a close second with nine ... Dickinson has a team-best six assists to her credit this year, a mark which ranks fifth in the ACC and 18th in the nation ... three Blue Devils are tied for tops on the squad in goals, as Suchoski, sophomore Amie Survilla and freshman Susan Ferger have netted three goals a piece ... senior goalie Caitlin Williams recorded 14 saves in two games last weekend, including seven stops against top-ranked North Carolina, and now has 56 saves to her credit this season, a mark that ranks first in the ACC ... among conference keepers, Williams ranks first in saves per game (5.4), second in shutouts (three), third in save percentage (.778) and fourth in goals against average (1.60) ... junior Shayna McGeehan is a perfect 2-for-2 on her shot attempts this year, as each of her two tallies on the year have been game-winning goals ... the Blue Devils have out-cornered their opponents, 82-64, on the year ... Duke has out-shot the opposition by a margin of 152-119 ... Duke is led by tri-captains, seniors Courtney Elliott and Caitlin Williams, and junior Laura Suchoski ... head coach Beth Bozman is in her fifth season at Duke, as she holds a record of 77-25 at the school and has guided the Blue Devils to four straight Final Four appearances.
