On being back at Cameron Indoor Stadium:
“It's a comfortable feeling. It's something I'm used to and it's like old times. I love Duke and I love being back here.”
On having her jersey retired:
“I'm very excited and emotional; sometimes I feel like I'm so happy I want to cry. It's great because I came here and I left my mark and it's always going to be here. It's something I never thought would happen.”
On thinking back to her Duke career:
“I grew so much here. The best decision I've ever made was to come here. I think back on it and it was just an awesome experience.”
On her fondest memories of Duke:
“There are so many. I have a lot of memories of Coach G[oestenkors] and practices and other gyms. She used to ride around on a scooter and she'd have a harmonica. She would get on the other school's drums and start beating them when we were at practice. She just reminded us to have fun. That's one of the things I always take with me into a game. I play better and my teams have always played better when we have fun and that's what she always taught us to do.”
On how she feels physically:
“Alison Bales and I practiced with the team yesterday; it was a lot of fun and like old times. We did a couple chest bumps. I miss those a little bit, too. I feel good; I played pick-up a few weeks ago for the first time. I'm around six months, I'm good, I'm playing and I feel strong.”
On having her jersey retired next to Alana Beard's:
“When I first got here, no woman had had their jersey retired. I didn't come in and say, I'm going to go to Duke and get my jersey retired. I had different goals and never thought about it until my senior season with all these awards and all this talk. This is the biggest accomplishment I've ever had. Graduating was huge, of course, but this will be here forever. When Alana left and I looked up there and saw the jersey, it was a bit of an inspiration knowing that she changed history. I would love it if another player comes through and says, Alana Beard did this, Lindsey Harding did this ? two different players, but both found a way to impact this program ? and provide inspiration to future Duke players. It's a pretty cool feeling and it's definitely an honor.”
On talking to Alana Beard about having her jersey retired:
“I saw her yesterday and she is here today. She gave me a hug and said it was well-deserved and ?I'm so proud of you.' I definitely got a lot of support from her.”
On how she grew as a player at Duke:
“I think I grew the most here with my leadership. You can always work on your skills but not everyone can lead, I feel. It's hard to lead and kind of easy to follow and do your job. I know that my senior season I had to lead and I think that has definitely helped me now in the WNBA. I was drafted number one as a point guard to lead. Anyone can score 20 points and everyone is good, but it was to be a leader, and I learned that here under Coach G.”
