Jennie Lee Advances To Second Round At WAPL

ERIN, WIS.?After the first round of the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, Duke University rising senior Jennie Lee is the only Blue Devil left in the tournament as she downed Joy Trotter, 3 and 2, to advance to the second round at the 6,158-yard, par-73 Erin Hills Golf Course.

Fellow rising senior Amanda Blumenherst fell in round one, 2 and 1, to Aimee Neff. Blumenherst, who is from Scottsdale, Ariz., went down early and couldn't ever get a momentum going.

Lee, a product of Henderson, Nev., had a battle through the first 12 holes, but went on a streak where she won holes 13, 14 and 15 to go 3up with three holes remaining. Both golfers had a par on the 16, which closed out the match.
