Seniors Konrad Dudziak and Voris Tejada both placed among the top three, with Dudziak coming away with top honors at heavyweight and Tejada taking third in the 174-pound division.
Ranked second nationally in the preseason polls, Dudziak battled his way to four victories to bring home his first tournament title of the season. He registered three victories by decision, getting past ACC foe David Marone, 4-2, in the title match.
Tejada also opened the season with good results, battling his way to the semifinal round. He posted his first fall of the season in the opening matching as he pinned Josh Richardson in 4:57. He followed that with a 10-1 decision over Mark Rogers to earn a spot in the semifinal. After losing to the eventual runner-up, Tejada came back and pinned Keith Witt of Kent State in just 38 seconds to collect third-place honors.
Anchoring the 125-pound division, sophomore Peter Terrezza also did well in posting two wins to move into the quarterfinal round before falling to the eventual runner-up from Newberry. He rebounded to win a match in the wrestleback bracket to finish the day with a 3-1 overall record.
The Blue Devils return to action on Nov. 14 at the Pembroke Open.
