DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Incoming freshman Erin Koballa registered an assist to help lead North Carolina to a 2-0 victory over South Carolina in the annual Clash of the Carolinas contest, which was played at the Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island, S.C.
Koballa, who attended New Hanover H.S. and is a native of Wrightsville Beach, N.C., assisted Stephanie Rose in the 50th minute to give North Carolina a 1-0 lead. North Carolina dominated the contest holding a 31-5 shot advantage.
Both Koballa and fellow incoming Blue Devil freshman Callie Simpkins played for North Carolina. Simpkins is a product of Northwest Cabarrus H.S., in Concord, N.C.
