CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior Dorian Cohen was named an All-America for the second time in his career following an eighth-place finish in men's foil at the 2010 NCAA Fencing Championships at Harvard.
Cohen, who was also named All-America as a freshman, went 14-9 at the national championships and missed out on advancing to the medal rounds by just two victories. Cohen became the last of three Blue Devils to earn All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA Championships, joining women's saber Becca Ward, who finished as the runner-up on Friday, and freshman epee Emily D'Agostino, who claimed 12th place.
Cohen's 14 wins helped Duke place 10th as a team with 59 total victories. With just five fencers competing at the NCAA Championships, Duke had the fewest entries of any of the top 10 teams, but still managed to finish 10th out of 27 programs.
Duke sophomore Tristan Jones contributed six victories from the men's epee competition while freshman Anthony Lin added five from men's saber. Lin took 22nd in his saber field while Jones finished 23rd.
In all, three of Duke's five entries finished among the top 12 in their respective weapons to earn All-America honors. After winning the NCAA Women's Saber Championship as a freshman, Ward followed up with a second-place finish to earn her second straight All-America citation. D'Agostino also earned the recognition with her 12th-place finish.
