ATHENS, Ga.-Duke University junior Ellah Nze had her season come to an end this afternoon in a 3=6, 6-0, 6-1 loss to 20th-ranked Nina Secerbegovic of Baylor University in the NCAA Individual Singles Tournament round of 16. Nze closes out the year with a 25-17 overall record.

Nze used a couple service breaks to cruise to a 6-3 victory in the opening set against Secerbegovic. The Baylor sophomore quickly evened the match, blanking Nze 6-0 to force the decisive third set. The 20th-ranked Secerbegovic carried that second-set momentum into the third set and breezed to the 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory.

The native of Tampa, Fla., advanced to the round of 16 for the second consecutive season with two wins in the NCAA Individual Tournament. An All-ACC performer, Nze posted a 15-11 record in dual matches for the season as Duke's top player.
