Christopher captures first team honors for the second consecutive year, while Wenger picks up his first Capital One Academic All-District III award. Daniel and Christopher also previously earned second team honors in 2009.
Christopher, a midfielder, has helped lead Duke's offense this season with an ACC-best 11 assists and 21 points overall. He currently ranks second nationally in assists and is riding a seven-game point streak. A mechanical engineering major, he earned ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America second team honors last season after pacing the league in assists. The native of Pittsfield, Mass. is equally successful in the classroom, earning Dean's List recognition all six semesters. Christopher is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and is active in the Duke community as the Co-President of ChangEducate, which aims to educate high school students about poverty and encourage them to become entrepreneurs to lead social change. He also is active in DukeEngage and is a committee member of Touching Tiny Lives Foundation. For his career, Christopher has played in 58 games, starting in 55 of those, and scored eight goals with 26 assists for 42 points.
Equally as active in the community and on the field for the Blue Devils, Daniel has helped to anchor the Duke backline all season. Moving from the midfield to defense this season, the Pittsfield, Mass., native has not missed a beat. He has started 15 of Duke's 17 games and helped the team to three shutouts. He has earned a spot on the Dean's List all six semesters as a mechanical engineering major and is a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree. Daniel is an executive board member and Chief Financial Officer for ChangEducate, which aims to educate high school students about poverty and encourage them to become entrepreneurs to lead social change. He also is equally active in DukeEngage and is a Co-President of Engineering World Health. For his career, Daniel has played in 58 games and started 26 with three goals and two assists for eight points.
The nation's leading scorer and a first team All-American, Wenger headlines the Duke offense this season. The native of Lititz, Pa., is tops in the ACC and the nation in points with 42 off of 17 goals and eight assists. His 17 tallies are fifth nationally and tie the Duke single-season record. Wenger currently is ranked fifth in Duke history in single-season points and is just four shy of tying the record that has stood since 1982. The winner of the ACC Rookie of the Year award in 2009 and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year honor in 2010, Wenger moved into the attack for 2011. He has scored at least one point in 11 contests and leads the ACC with eight multiple-point outings. He registered a hat trick twice and had seven points in a single game twice. He has had a hand in 25 of Duke's 39 goals this season. A history major, Wenger is a two-time All-ACC Academic selection and helps the Duke men's soccer team in its outreach to local elementary schools.
Duke closes out its regular season on November 4, hosting Mercer at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils recently earned the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament and will host No. 6 Clemson on November 8 at 7 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
