Duke's Jonathan Aguirre, James Belshaw, Rob Dolot, Temi Molinar, Nick Sih, Matthew Thomas, Christopher Tweed-Kent and Andrew Wenger all were recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The 2010 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and All-ACC first team honoree, Wenger garnered the honor for the second consecutive season. He joined Belshaw as two of the eight All-ACC honorees during the year who were selected for the team.
Aguirre and Dolot were two of five rookies chosen by the league. Aguirre also was an All-Freshman Team honoree. Overall, Belshaw, Molinar, Sih, Thomas, Tweed-Kent and Wenger all garnered recognition for a second time and for Sih it is the third straight time on the team.
ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Candidates for the awards must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.
