DURHAM, N.C. - The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has released its 2010-11
Men's All-District Teams with Duke senior
Nolan Smith being selected the
District III Player of the Year and joining teammate
Kyle Singler on the
All-District III team.
Both Smith and Singler are repeat selections after
making the team last year. Singler has now been on the USBWA All-District team
in three of his four seasons at Duke.
The two senior captains have
combined to average 38.7 points per game this season which is the fourth highest
total by a scoring tandem in the NCAA this season. They have led Duke to a 27-4
record heading into this week's ACC Tournament in Greensboro,
N.C.
District III is made up of schools from the states of North
Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. The other players on the
District III team were Jeff Allen (Virginia Tech), Harrison Barnes (North
Carolina), Malcolm Delaney (Virginia Tech), Andrew Goudelock (College of
Charleston), John Henson (North Carolina), Cam Long (George Mason), Jordan
Williams (Maryland) and Tyler Zeller (North Carolina).
