GREEBSBORO, N.C. - Freshman Kyrie Irving, who has been out since December with a right toe injury, worked out on the Greensboro Coliseum floor, while his teammates went through shoot-around, prior to the Duke-Maryland game, Friday night.
"With Kyrie he is just going through the next phase of his rehabilitation," head coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "He's progressing very well, and because we are in this tournament atmosphere, to get him on the court, do exercises, get some shooting in. There's no timetable on him, though. He is not going to magically appear tomorrow or anything like that because he hasn't done anything with the team, but it's coming along, really, it's coming along great and we just want to take advantage of the fact that we are in the gym and the crowd and whatever, that keeps his spirits up, too."
Irving has started and played in eight games this season for the Blue Devils, averaging 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field and 45 percent from three.
