ATHENS, Ga. - With 18 holes remaining at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, the fifth-ranked Duke women's golf team sits in fourth place with a 36-hole total of 587 at the 6,335-yard, par 72 University of Georgia Golf Course.
The Blue Devils have notched rounds of 291 and 296 and trail Alabama (577) by 10 strokes Sunday's final round remaining. Purdue (581), Georgia (585), Duke (587), Notre Dame (588), Ohio State (589), Virginia (590), Auburn (591), Wake Forest (591) and Arkansas (592) rounding out the top 10.
Leading Duke through two days of action is freshman Laetitia Beck, who has totaled two rounds of 74 and is tied for ninth with a 148. For the second straight day, Beck was held without a birdie but holed an eagle on the 470-yard, par five 17th hole.
A day after opening with seven birdies and a two-under-par, 70, freshman Alejandra Cangrejo had an 81 on Saturday to slip to tied for 19th with a 151. Cangrejo had one birdie on the day, which came on the 356-yard, par four sixth hole.
Sophomore Lindy Duncan posted her second consecutive round of 77 and is now tied for 39th as she was limited to one birdie on the day. Sophomore Stacey Kim is tied for 60th with a 156, while sophomore Courtney Ellenbogen is tied for 82nd with a 159.
After registering 10 birdies as a team in Friday's first round, Duke was limited to three on Saturday. Sunday's final round will kick off at 9:00 a.m., with a shotgun start.
