Rennie, Duke's head coach for 29 seasons, remains among the winningest coaches in college soccer history. He guided the Blue Devils to five ACC Championships and five NCAA College Cups and ultimately the 1986 NCAA Championship. He mentored six national players of the year and 17 different All-Americans, including 10 first-team All-America choices.
The longtime head coach finished his career with a 454-207-48 overall record to rank 13th among coaches in career wins and fifth among Division I head coaches. He was named the ACC Coach of the Year five times and the NSCAA Coach of the Year in 1982. Duke was the NCAA runner-up twice, in 1982 and 2004, and went 26-20-1 in 20 NCAA Tournament appearances under Rennie.
