DURHAM, N.C. - Duke's Miles Plumlee will participate in the 24th annual College Slam Dunk Contest on Thursday, March 29 at Fogelman Arena on the campus of Tulane University. The State Farm College Slam Dunk features eight elite collegiate dunkers and will be televised on ESPN beginning at 9 pm (ET).
Plumlee concluded his Duke career in 2012 with 650 points and 654 rebounds. He had 87 career dunks, while helping the Blue Devils to a 115-20 record in his 135 career games. As a senior, Plumlee averaged 6.6 points, while shooting a team-high 61.0 percent (89-of-146) from the field. He ranked ninth in the ACC in rebounds at 7.1 rebounds per game and tied for the fifth in offensive rebounds at 2.9 orpg.
The Warsaw, Ind., native set a Coach K-era record with 22 rebounds in a Feb. 11 win over Maryland. He closed the year with 10 double-figure rebounding games and three double-doubles.
Other confirmed slam dunk contestants participating Thursday include Kenny Gabriel (Auburn), DeQuan Jones (Miami), James Justice (Martin Methodist), David Kyles (Wichita State), and Bryan Narcisse (Clemson).
