DURHAM, N.C.- The Duke baseball team is heading to Atlanta, Ga., this weekend to take on conference foe, Georgia Tech. Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior right handed pitcher, David Putman to learn more about the Doylestown, Pa., native.
GoDuke.com: What do you have DVR'd?
David Putman: My favorite shows are probably Dexter and East Bound and Down. I'm also a big Pawn Star guy. Other than that it's just ESPN.
GoDuke.com: What embarrassing music do you have on your iPod?
DP: "I have that Call Me Maybe song. I don't even know who it's by but I have it on my iPod, so I guess that's probably embarrassing."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite movie?
DP: "Tropic Thunder."
GoDuke.com: Do you have any superstitions/pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?
DP: "I always brush my teeth right before the game, I don't know why I do that, but I always do that. It's pretty weird."
GoDuke.com: What's on your bucket list?
DP: "I want to go to Vegas at some point. I haven't been to Las Vegas before so hopefully I can get that off the list."
GoDuke.com: What's the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome?
DP: "Probably shoulder surgery my sophomore year."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite home cooked meal?
DP: "Probably steak and garlic mashed potatoes."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite class at Duke?
DP: "Probably Business of Sports."
GoDuke.com: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
DP: "President of the United States. Nah, I won't even be old enough to do that. Probably playing pro ball."
GoDuke.com: Who has had the most impact on your life and why?
DP: "Just my parents because I trust everything they say and I have been around them my whole life so I am very respectful of them."
GoDuke.com: Describe your coach in one word.
DP: "Aggressive."
GoDuke.com: Can you cook? If so what are you good at?
DP: "I can cook...I am a very good cook. I probably specialized in spinach. I am pretty good at making cream of spinach."
GoDuke.com: Who would you trade places with for a day?
DP: "Probably LeBron James, seems like he lives a pretty good life."
GoDuke.com: Who would be your dream date?
DP: "I mean that has changed a lot, but right now it'd probably be Kate Upton."
GoDuke.com: Fill in the blank -- I wish I knew how to _________
DP: "Speak Spanish. I took three semesters and I still don't know how to."
GoDuke.com: Who would play you in a movie?
DP: "Brad Pitt, me and him look pretty similar."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite restaurant in Durham?
DP: "Definitely Sushi Love."
