Jackson Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe announced on Thursday that freshman defensive end Allen Jackson underwent successful surgery to repair a 360-degree labral tear in his right shoulder.

The procedure was performed on Wednesday by Dr. Claude T. Moorman III, Duke's head team physician and the director of Duke Sports Medicine.

Jackson, a 6-5, 235-pound native of Ellicott City, Md., matriculated to Duke last month after graduating from McDonogh High School.

The Duke football team completed its spring practice session with the program's Blue & White game inside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. The defense (White Team), held off the offense (Blue Team) for a 26-17 victory.
