McCarthy Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke freshman safety Corbin McCarthy underwent surgery on Monday to repair a labral tear in his left shoulder. He will miss the remainder of the 2012 season.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Claude T. Moorman III, Duke's head team physician and the director of Duke Sports Medicine.

A native of Norco, Calif., McCarthy saw action in the first two games and compiled four total tackles including a season-best three stops in Duke's victory over FIU.

The Duke football team completed its spring practice session with the program's Blue & White game inside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. The defense (White Team), held off the offense (Blue Team) for a 26-17 victory.
