No. 3 Blue Devils Have First Practice in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii - On a windy Sunday morning, the No. 3 Duke women's tennis team took to the courts at the University of Hawaii for one of their first practices of the spring. Despite wind gusts of up to 30 MPH, the team went back to basics working on fundamentals as well as fitness in preparation for the Hawaii Invitational Jan. 9-10.

Following an outstanding morning, the Blue Devils travelled to the base of the Diamond Head Crater, one of Hawaii's most recognized icons. The crater is a lasting remnant of a volcanic explosion that occurred more than 500,000 years ago according to tour guide Hanna Mar (with a little help from a brochure at the start of the hike). After a steep climb, the team reached the top to see one of the finest panoramic views of Oahu.
