DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior Haley Peters to learn more about the Red Bank, N.J., native.
GoDuke.com: Who would you trade places with for a day?
Haley Peters: Beyonce. I just admire her, and I think that she is really successful, and she makes good music.
GoDuke.com: Who is someone you model your game after?
HP: I'd say Larry Bird. He was my favorite player; that's why I wear 33. He always played hard and he was really skilled.
GoDuke.com: Which Duke home sporting event other than your own do you like to attend?
HP: We go to a lot of them. I like to go to the women's soccer games and football and the volleyball games.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
HP: My mom makes chili and cornbread. That's my favorite.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite part of being a Duke student-athlete?
HP: I'd say the student-athlete community here. Everyone is really close and everybody supports all the other teams and goes to one another's games.
GoDuke.com: What song do you like to listen to before a game?
HP: It depends on the game, I listen to a really wide range.
GoDuke.com: What is your dream job?
HP: I'd probably be a writer. I want to be a successful writer. I also kind of want to be a doctor, so we'll see.
GoDuke.com: Describe yourself in three words.
HP: I'd say passionate, hard-working, and optimistic.
