MOSCOW – With a time of 15:50.41 and a fourth-place finish, Duke alum Shannon Rowbury advanced to the final for the International Association of Athletics Federations World Championship 5,000-meter competition on Wednesday, August 14.
Five runners automatically qualified from each of the two heats, with an additional five runners advancing on time. Rowbury placed fourth in her heat, earning an automatic qualifier for the final.
Rowbury enters the final with a season-best time of 15:18.06 and a personal-record mark of 15:00.51.
The former Blue Devil will compete for a world championship medal during the 5,000-meter final on Saturday, August 17.
