Lewis Prepares for 2014 NFL Season

DURHAM, N.C. – After starting five games for the Buffalo Bills last season, former Duke standout quarterback Thaddeus Lewis returned to his alma mater to prepare for his fifth season in the National Football League.
“Miami is where I grew up and its home, but Duke is home, too,” said Lewis. “It's great to be able to come here and get the work in that needs to be done, but also to relax and be comfortable at the same time.”
In 2013, Lewis joined the Bills in late August via a trade from the Detroit Lions. After spending time on the practice squad, he made his Buffalo debut against Cincinnati on October 13 and threw for 216 yards with three total touchdowns (2 passing & 1 rushing) in a 27-24 loss to the playoff-bound Bengals. A week later, Lewis earned the first win of his professional career as a starting QB in his hometown of Miami, leading the Bills to a 23-21 triumph over the Dolphins.
In six total games last fall, Lewis completed 93-of-157 (.592) passes for 1,092 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing 24 times for 52 yards and one touchdown. He remains under contract with Buffalo through the 2014 season.
At Duke, Lewis started four seasons at quarterback, twice earned All-ACC honors and became just the second player in ACC history to throw for over 10,000 yards.
