GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The first ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week honor was announced Tuesday by the conference office, with Duke sophomore Wesley Frazier earning the weekly accolade following her first-place showing at the Virginia Duals Friday afternoon. Virginia's Mike Marsella was named the male performer of the week after winning the men's competition at the same event.
Frazier, a native of Raleigh, N.C., opened her 2014 campaign by winning the Virginia Duals, covering the 4-kilometer course at Panorama Farms in a time of 14:01. Frazier's performance set the tone for the Blue Devils, who took four of the top five places and positioned five runners in the top-10. Duke concluded the competition with a 5-0 mark, sweeping all but one of the opposing teams.
The Duke women's cross country team returns to competition Friday, Sept. 26, traveling to Boston, Mass., for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
