Trio of Duke Golfers to Play in LPGA Q-School

DURHAM, N.C. — As stage two of the LPGA Qualifying School gets set to kick off Tuesday, three former Duke golfers are part of the field of 192 that will play Sept. 30 through Oct. 3 at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. The field will play both the Panther and Bobcat Courses.

Competing in stage two will be three members of Duke's 2014 NCAA Championship squad – Yu Liu, Laetitia Beck and Alejandra Cangrejo. The trio helped lead the Blue Devils to a sixth NCAA Championship this past May at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

In stage one of qualifying, Liu placed tied seventh, Beck tied 19th and Cangrejo tied 26th to advance to the second portion of qualifying. The top 80 finishers of stage two will advance to final qualifying Dec. 3-7 at LPGA International.
