Roundball Notebook: There's Only 1K

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski became the first NCAA Division I coach to reach the 1,000-win mark after the Blue Devils defeated St. John's in Madison Square Garden Sunday afternoon. The win capped a two-win week for Duke that started with the Blue Devils upending the Pittsburgh Panthers in Cameron.

Coach K Reaches 1,000 Career Wins
With a 77-68 win over the Red Storm on Sunday in New York, N.Y., Coach K earned his 1,000th career win, becoming the first head coach of a Division I men's basketball program to achieve such a feat. The outpour of congratulations Coach K received following the game serves as a perfect example of the multitude of lives he's influenced over his 40 year career.

USBWA Midseason Watch Lists Announced
The United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) released its midseason watch lists for the Wayman Tisdale Award (Freshman of the Year) and the Oscar Robertson Trophy (Player of the Year). Duke placed freshmen Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor on the Wayman Tisdale Award watch list, while Okafor also appeared on the Oscar Robertson Trophy watch list.
