OAK BROOK, Ill. – The roster for the 38th annual boys McDonald's All American Games was announced this evening, with two future Duke Blue Devils, Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard, among the 24 individuals selected to compete in the contest. A showcase of the nation's top high school talent, the game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, with coverage on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. ET. The contest will be held at Chicago's United Center.
Prior to becoming teammates, Jeter and Kennard will face off against one another, with Kennard, a 6-5 guard from Franklin, Ohio, representing the East Team, and Jeter, a 6-10 center out of Las Vegas, Nev., donning a West Team jersey.
Jeter and Kennard rank among the nation's top 30 recruits, with Jeter receiving top 10 rankings by nearly all major ranking services, including ESPN (No. 9), Scout (No. 9) and Rivals (No. 8). Kennard also received a top 25 ranking by numerous outlets, including Scout (No. 23), Rivals (No. 24) and 247 Sports (No. 21).
The 24-boy roster was whittled down from a list of 800 nominees. The McDonald's All American Games selection committee, led by Morgan Wootten, Hall-of-Fame basketball coach and committee chairman, established the participants for this year's game.
Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has now signed 63 McDonald's All-America selections during his career.
