Alvarez Begins Main Draw at ITA All-American

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore Nicolas Alvarez will begin his second tournament of the fall Thursday with the Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships Main Draw in Tulsa, Okla., at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Alvarez enters the draw as the No. 2 seed.
Alvarez will begin the main draw against Joao Monteiro of Virginia Tech at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
In his only other fall action, Alvarez took second place at the Oracle/ITA Masters. The tournament consisted of the top 16 players in the country and Alvarez defeated a trio of ranked opponents before falling to TCU's Cameron Norrie, 6-3, 7-6 (2), in the championship match.
The rest of the Blue Devils have this weekend off before taking part in the ITA Regional Qualifier at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C., from October 16-20.
