NEW YORK CITY – A trip to the financial hub of New York City would not be complete without a visit to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). On Thursday morning, seniors Carlos Wray and Matt Skura, as well as head coach David Cutcliffe and Duke Director of Athletics Kevin White, attended the opening bell breakfast at the NYSE.
Cash, Skura and Cutcliffe attended a brief breakfast followed by the ceremony at the NYSE. Representatives from both teams officially opened the trading for the day by ringing the bell for 10 seconds at 9:30 a.m. The opening of the stock exchange aired live on 35 media outlets and will be on approximately 225 times during the course of the day.
Blue Devil Network was on hand and spoke with all three about what it meant to officially start the day of trading within the United States.
