Shadpoor Tabbed ACC Male Fencer of the Week

DURHAM, N.C. – Following his collegiate debut at the Duke Meet Saturday, freshman Bobak Shadpoor was selected as the ACC Male Fencer of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league office.
A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., Shadpoor finished his first meet in a Blue Devil uniform with an unblemished 6-0 mark, recording three individual victories against Johns Hopkins and ACC-rival North Carolina. The freshman paced the Blue Devils in wins and led both the ninth-ranked Duke men's fencing team and the epee squad to 2-0 records at the event.
The Duke men's and women's fencing teams will resume competition at the ACC Fencing Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., Feb. 21-22, the first conference meet for the ACC in over three decades.
