GREENSBORO, N.C. – The All-ACC teams voted on by the 15 league coaches were released Monday with Duke's
Elizabeth Williams and freshman
Azurá Stevens earning honors.
Williams earned First Team All-ACC and All-ACC Defensive Team accolades, while Stevens received All-ACC Freshman Team honors.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Williams heads into the NCAA Tournament averaging 14.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.9 blocks and 1.6 steals for the Blue Devils. She currently ranks 16th in the NCAA in blocks and currently leads all centers nationally with a 2.5 assist per game average. The 6-3, three-time All-America and four-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year owns 10 double-doubles on the year, including five in ACC action.
On the All-ACC teams along with Williams were Jewell Loyd (Notre Dame), Dearica Hamby (WFU), Brianna Kiesel (Pitt), Brianna Turner (Notre Dame), Kaela Davis (Georgia Tech), Allisha Gray (UNC), Adut Bulgak (FSU), Adrienne Motley (Miami) and Stephanie Mavunga (UNC) on the first team. Leticia Romero (FSU), Sara Hammond (Louisville), Mariya Moore (Louisville), Alexis Peterson (Syracuse) and Faith Randolph (Virginia) were on the five-member second team.
Williams received All-ACC Defensive Team honors for the fourth straight season and joins only Duke's Alana Beard as the only four-time selections in league history. Joining Williams on the All-ACC Defensive Team were Loyd (Notre Dame), Turner (Notre Dame), Kiesel (Pitt) and Peterson (Syracuse).
In the ACC stats, she ranks 10th in scoring (14.7), seventh in rebounding (8.9), tied 11th in field goal percentage (49.3) and first in blocked shots (2.9). She is coming off being named to the All-ACC Tournament first team Sunday, following averaging 13.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 3.0 assists in two games for the Blue Devils. It marked the third straight season Williams has earned the honor.
Stevens, who hails from Raleigh, N.C., has totaled one of the best freshman campaigns in school history averaging 14.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.9 steals. She was a four-time ACC Freshman of the Week honoree during the regular season, which ranked as the fourth-most by a Duke rookie in school history. The 6-5 wing enters the NCAA Tournament posting double-doubles in five of her final seven contests and owns a total of nine on the year.
Stevens ranks 13th in the ACC in scoring (14.1), eighth in rebounding (8.3) and seventh in field goal percentage (51.3). In league games only, she ranked 12th in scoring (14.9), eighth in rebounding (8.6) and sixth in field goal percentage (51.5).
Along with Stevens on the All-ACC Freshman team were Shakayla Thomas (FSU), Moore (Louisville), Myisha Hines-Allen (Louisville) and Turner (Notre Dame).
