DURHAM, N.C. – Four members of the Duke men's and women's swimming and diving programs received degrees from the university at Sunday's commencement exercises.
Receiving bachelor's degrees were swimmers Stefan Knight (public policy), Katherine Plevka (psychology), Clay Sanders (civil engineering) and Tyler Toren (biology).
"This class can be described in one word - perseverance," said head coach Dan Colella. "They have all had challenges throughout their four years but always managed to come back strong. They will be missed and we wish them all the best in the coming years. I have no doubt that they are all going to be success stories based on how they always persevered here at Duke."
The class of 2015 played a key role in guiding the Blue Devil men and women to increased success over their four seasons. Their leadership and performances in the pool have helped elevate the status of the Duke programs both on the conference and national levels.
