• Freshman Peter Zyla leads the team with a .327 batting average ... Zyla has at least one hit in 32 of the 37 games he has started this season ... His 13 multiple hit games trails only senior Andy Perez for the team lead ... Zyla is on track to become the first Duke freshman to lead the team in batting average since Vaughn Schill in 1997 ... Zyla enters the weekend ranked 20th in the ACC in batting average ... One of the toughest Blue Devils to strike out, his 0.41 strikeout per contest average is good for ninth in the league ... In addition, Zyla's .327 batting average is the third best among ACC freshmen ... Should the season end today, Zyla's average would be the highest by a Blue Devil since Jeff Kremer hit .347 in 2011.
Perez at the Plate
• Senior Andy Perez has served as the team's offensive catalyst out of the leadoff spot ... He is the only Blue Devil to start every game this season ... Perez has also hit leadoff in every contest ... He currently leads the team in slugging percentage, runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases ... Perez is a career .291 hitter at Duke, which ranks among the top 50 in the school records books ... In addition, Perez is batting .316 for his career in ACC play ... Defensively, he leads all ACC second basemen with a .995 fielding percentage.
Perez on the Base Paths
• Senior Andy Perez has been one of the most prolific base stealers in school history ... With a career-best 30 stolen bases this season, Perez leads ACC and ranks third in the program's single season records ... He is the third player in Duke history to swipe 30 bases in a season and needs three more to tie the Duke single season record ... He enters the weekend with 74 career stolen bases, good for fourth in program history and one shy of the third spot ... He is the only active player in the ACC with 50 or more career stolen bases ... Over the past 20 seasons, Perez and Will Piwnica-Worms (21, 2011) are the only two Blue Devils to steal 20 or more bases in a single season ... Perez has accomplished that feat twice, registering 22 stolen bases in 2014.
Istler Among Duke Career ERA Leaders
• Senior right-hander Andrew Istler enters the weekend ranked eighth in program history in career ERA (3.29), fourth in career saves (12) and ninth in career wins (20) ... Istler's 3.29 career ERA is also the fifth best at Duke since the start of the aluminum bat era in 1974 ... After earning the victory May 3 against N.C. Central, Istler became the 10th Duke pitcher to reach 20 career wins ... Along with David Darwin and Ryan Jackson, he is one of just three Blue Devil pitchers to amass 20 or more wins as well as 10 or more saves. ... Istler is one of five current ACC pitchers to collect 20 or more career wins, joining North Carolina's Benton Moss (25), Clemson's Michael Crownover (23), North Carolina Trent Thornton (22) and Florida State's Mike Compton (22) ... Istler currently leads the team in innings pitched (81.0) and strikeouts (76) this season ... Among ACC pitchers, he ranks seventh in innings pitched (81.0), seventh in strikeouts (76), first in batters struck out looking (33), fifth in walks allowed per game (1.78) and third in runners picked off (5).
Youth Movement
• After graduating 14 seniors from the 2014 squad, Duke relies heavily on its bevy of talented underclassmen this season ... The Blue Devil roster features 14 freshmen ... Six freshmen -- Justin Bellinger, Evan Dougherty, Jack Labosky, Max Miller, Michael Smiciklas and Peter Zyla -- have all started 25 or more games ... Duke played a season-high 13 freshmen April 5 at No. 12 Miami ... Five Duke freshmen have pitched 17.0 or more innings in Ryan Day, Mitch Stallings, Jack Labosky, Chris McGrath and Luke Whitten ... Ohanian Having Career Year
• Senior Sarkis Ohanian has been instrumental out of the Duke bullpen ... Ohanian has posted career bests in ERA (1.91), strikeouts (58) and walks allowed (6) ... He is one of just three ACC pitchers to throw 40.0 or more innings and post an ERA under 2.00, joining Clemson's Michael Crownover and Louisville's Brendan McKay ... In addition, Ohanian is the only relief pitcher to accomplish that feat.
Koplove Closing
• In addition to starting 40 games at shortstop, junior Kenny Koplove also serves as the team's primary closer ... He was named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year watch list April 22 ... He was one of seven ACC players named to the list, joining Wake Forest's Will Craig, Virginia's Kevin Doherty, Georgia Tech's Brandon Gold and Virginia Tech's Sean Keselica and Alex Perez ... Koplove ranks third in the ACC with 11 saves ... His 11 saves are good for the program single-season record ... Koplove has struck out 36 batters over 23.2 innings, which translates to an average of 13.68 strikeouts per nine innings ... Prior to the 2015 campaign, Koplove had taken the mound just three times during his freshman season and did not pitch at all in 2014.
Duke Leads ACC in Pickoffs
• The Blue Devils lead the ACC with 19 runners picked off this season ... Duke is the only league team to feature two pitchers with five or more pickoffs this season in Andrew Istler and Luke Whitten ... Whitten and NC State's Brian Brown are the only freshmen to appear among the ACC's top five in runners picked off ... Istler has ranked among the league's top pitchers in terms of pickoffs over the past two years, totaling 12 in that span.

Four Pitchers Sidelined Due to Injury
• Duke is without the services of four of its top pitchers for the remainder of the season ... Junior Michael Matuella will miss the rest of the year due to an elbow injury ... Matuella posted a 0.71 ERA over 25.0 innings this season ... Junior left-hander Nick Hendrix is also shut down for the season while recovering from a head injury ... Both senior Trent Swart and redshirt sophomore James Marvel will miss the entirety of the 2015 campaign ... Marvel posted a 1.78 ERA over 25.1 innings in four starts a season ago ... Swart ranks third in the Duke career records with a 2.99 ERA ... That mark is also the best in program history since the start of the aluminum bat era in 1974 ... Last season, Swart led the ACC with a 1.76 ERA.
Clark Named ACC Pitcher of the Week
• Sophomore Bailey Clark earned his first career ACC Pitcher of the week citation Feb. 23 after leading Duke to a 1-0 victory over Iona ... Clark was dominant from start to finish in his second career start ... The right-hander needed just 85 pitches to toss eight scoreless innings, strike out a career-high 11 batters and earn his first career win ... His 11 strikeouts were the most by a Duke pitcher since Michael Matuella fanned 12 on May 4, 2014.
Blue Devil Freshmen Ranked Nationally
• Perfect Game ranked Duke's 2014 recruiting class No. 16 in the nation this past fall ... The Blue Devils' roster includes freshmen pitchers Chris Koppenhaver, Chris McGrath, Mitch Stallings and Luke Whitten, infielders Justin Bellinger, Daniel Calabretta, Ryan Day, Jack Labosky and Max Miller, outfielders Evan Dougherty, James McGhee and Michael Smiciklas, and catcher Peter Zyla ... Two players -- Bellinger and McGrath -- were selected in the 2014 MLB Draft ... Bellinger was taken in the 11th round by the St. Louis Cardinals, while McGrath was picked in the 35th round by the Seattle Mariners.
Rosenfeld Tabbed to Johnny Bench List
• A three-time team captain, redshirt senior Mike Rosenfeld was named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list ... The prestigious award is given annually to the nation's top catcher ... Rosenfeld was one of 75 DI catchers tabbed to the list and six ACC catchers acknowledged.
Matuella Named to Golden Spikes List
• Right-hander Michael Matuella earned several preseason honors, including a nod to the Golden Spikes Award watch list ... In addition, Matuella garnered preseason All-America recognition from Baseball America (first team), D1Baseball.com (third team) and Perfect Game (third team) ... He was also rated the No. 1 junior by Perfect Game and the No. 2 prospect for the 2015 MLB Draft by MLB.com.
