Angela Salvadores helped lead Spain to a 4-1 record in group play at the FIBA U18 European Championship, which concluded Wednesday in Slovenia. Spain dropped a 58-54 decision to France in the final stage Wednesday and finished in a tie with France with a 4-1 mark.
Spain will open medal play Friday, Aug. 7 against Belgium and the winner will advance to face the winner of the Italy/Czech Republic contest Saturday, Aug. 8. The championship will take place Aug. 9. All games can be seen live via www.youtube.com/FIBA.
Salvadores, who hails from Leon, Spain, is currently averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 0.8 steals in five contests. She collected 31 points versus Italy as she drained 8-of-19 field goals, while notching 22 points versus Portugal.
