DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's golf duo of
Celine Boutier and
Leona Maguire have been selected First Team All-America in Lance Ringler's Golfweek Preseason All-America listing, which was released this week.
Maguire, the reigning National Player of the Year, was the No. 1 golfer in the Preseason All-America ledger. A native of Cavan, Ireland, Maguire earned both the PING Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Player of the Year and WGCA Freshman of the Year honors as a rookie.
She collected a school-record 70.78 stroke average as a rookie, while notching eight top five and 10 top 10 placements out of 11 tournaments. She totaled three victories on the year at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, ACC Championship and the South Bend Regional. Maguire, who is from Cavan, Ireland, registered a head-to-head mark of 894-54-13 a year ago.
Boutier, who hails from Montrouge, France, received First Team All-America accolades for the second straight year in 2014-15, after totaling a 72.69 stroke average over 10 tournaments. The 2014 National Player of the Year, Boutier registered three top five and eight top 20 finishes on the season. She owns nine top five and 17 top 20 finishes over the last two years with the Blue Devils.

Duke, the preseason No. 1 ranked team in the Golfweek rankings, will open the 2015-16 campaign at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Sept. 27-29 in Orlando, Fla.
