DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior kicker
Ross Martin has turned in a record-breaking career with the Blue Devils and is off to a strong start in 2015. Martin ranks among the NCAA's top five active players in numerous categories, including field goals made (58/second), total points (340/fourth) and points by a kicker (second), and holds four Duke career records.
Coach
David Cutcliffe's Duke Football Show spoke with Martin about his career and what it has meant to be a Blue Devil. Special teams coordinator
Zac Roper also shared his thoughts on Martin.
A native of Solon, Ohio, Martin already owns four Duke career marks with total points, points after touchdowns (166), consecutive PATs (121) and field goals. He is also the program leader in field goal percentage. This season he has made six-of-six field goal attempts. His six makes are tied for the seventh most in the country while he is one of only three kickers with six or more field goals who has not missed an attempt.
Duke (2-1) plays the third of four straight home games Saturday, hosting No. 20 Georgia Tech (2-1). Kickoff for the ACC opener is set for noon ET on ESPN2.
