DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke standout and current Washington Redskins wide receiver Jamison Crowder earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after helping the Washington Redskins to a 16-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens with an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown this past Sunday.
Against the Ravens, Crowder also had three pass receptions for 23 yards while the scoring play marked Washington's first punt return for touchdown since the 2008 season, when Santana Moss recorded an 80-yard score against the Detroit Lions. For the season, Crowder has returned seven punts for 194 yards and one touchdown while catching 21 passes for 231 and two additional scores.
After averaging just 5.3 yards per punt return during his rookie year, Crowder currently leads the NFL in punt return average at 27.7 yards.
At Duke, Crowder helped the Blue Devils to 28 wins and three bowl game appearances while earning both All-ACC and All-America honors. In 52 games, he caught 283 passes for 3,641 yards and 23 touchdowns while returning 65 punts for 869 yards and four scores.
Crowder was a fourth round selection of the Redskins in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Redskins (3-2) host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m.
