Kendall Cooper, a product of Carson, Calif., the Blue Devils went on to build as big as a 26-point advantage before settling in with a halftime score of 56-32. Duke hit 55.0 percent from the field and were led by Greenwell with a team-best 14 points, while freshman
Leaonna Odom added 10.
Pepperdine held close in the first half behind Sydney Bordonaro and Allie Green combining for 23 of the Waves' 32 first half points.
The Blue Devils outscored the Waves 23-18 in the third quarter and headed into the final 10 minutes with a 79-50 advantage.
Greenwell continued her hot shooting and at the 1:41 mark of the fourth quarter she sank her eighth three-pointer of the day to break the previous mark of seven held by Jessica Foley and Nicole Erickson. It gave Greenwell a career-high 31 points and was a Blue Devil school-record 16th attempt of the day. It was her second 30-point outburst of the season and 19th game with 20 or more points in her Blue Devil career.
All three natives of California finished the contest in double-figure scoring – Chidom (11), Cooper (12) and Odom (16). Odom, who hails from Lompoc, Calif., registered her first collegiate double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She also had the second-most offensive rebounds by a Blue Devil rookie with nine.
Brown added her first collegiate double-double as well with a career-high 12 assists to go along with 14 points and four steals in her 78th career game.
As a team, Duke committed a season-low 10 turnovers, while dishing a season-high 26 assists and hitting a season-high 12 three-pointers.
Pepperdine (0-5) was led by Sydney Bordonaro with 23 points.
Duke will next hit the road for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge as the Blue Devils will travel to Piscataway, N.J., to take on Rutgers Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. The contest will be aired live on the Big Ten Network Plus.
