DURHAM, N.C. – Due to extreme temperatures being forecasted for Saturday, the Duke-Navy contest was moved to a 4 p.m. start Friday in Annapolis. The fifth-ranked Blue Devils will face the Mids for the second consecutive season after earning a 10-3 victory last spring in Durham.

Duke dropped one spot to No. 5 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll this week, swapping spots with Northwestern … Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea was named the Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week after posting a career-high 16 saves against the Wildcats … Friday's contest will feature several familiar faces on the sidelines, as Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel will go up against her collegiate coach, Cindy Timchal ... Kimel played for Timchal at Maryland from 1991-93 … Navy assistant coach Josh Dionne was a two-time All-American for the Duke men's lacrosse program (2011-14), guiding the Blue Devils to back-to-back national titles in 2013 and 2014.

Duryea Tabbed Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week
Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea netted her first accolades of the 2016 season this week, earning national Player of the Week honors from Inside Lacrosse ... The Beverly, Mass., native turned in a career-best 16 save performance Sunday in an 11-8 loss to No. 5 Northwestern ... Duryea held the Wildcats to 11 scores on 31 shots, including 27 shots on goal ... She also picked up a career-high seven ground balls.

Kelsey Duryea continues to work her way up the program's career record books ... The Beverly, Mass., native is just 13 saves away from moving into a tie for third on Duke's career list after surpassing the 400 saves mark last April ... Duryea also topped the 100 ground ball mark for her career last March.

Balanced Attack in Opening Weekend
The Blue Devils featured 11 different scorers in their first two contests of the season ... Sophomore Kyra Harney and freshman Olivia Jenner led the way with five goals each while Harney also added four assists, with all four coming against Campbell (2/4) ... Harney and Jenner were joined by junior Kitty Morrissey in registering hat tricks in the season-opening victory over the Camels ... Defender Maura Schwitter got in on the scoring against Campbell, winning a draw and taking the ball downfield for her first career goal.
Navy Series History
Duke will take on the Mids for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall ... The Blue Devils are 1-0 historically when facing Navy in Annapolis ... The squad competed at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in the first and second rounds of the 2013 NCAA Tournament, topping the Mids by a 10-5 score in the second round ... Last year's meeting in Durham resulted in a 10-3 victory for Duke ... Kyra Harney collected the first hat trick of her career and Kelsey Duryea recorded nine saves in the win.
Scouting the Mids
After concluding the 2015 campaign with a 15-5 mark and a trip to the Patriot League championship game, Navy has started this spring with a pair of wins over Virginia Tech and Longwood ... The Mids defeated the Hokies by a 12-6 score in the Feb. 6 opener in Blacksburg ... The squad was picked to finish second in the Patriot League preseason poll, with Katie Gallagher, Lizzy Rullan and Jenna Collins appearing on the preseason all-conference team ... Following the graduation of draw specialist Loren Generi, the team has been led by Collins (5g, 11dc) so far ... Goalkeeper Ingrid Boyum notched 12 saves through the first two contests.

The Blue Devil program is 9-4 historically against Patriot League opponents ... Navy was the only Patriot League team Duke faced in 2015.
Familiar Faces on Defense
Led by three-year starter Kelsey Duryea in goal, the Blue Devils return significant experience on the defensive side of the ball ... Senior Claire Scarrone joined Duryea in collecting All-ACC and IWLCA All-South Region accolades last fall ... Juniors Isabelle Montagne, Devon Russell and Maura Schwitter have been on the field since their freshman campaigns ... Opponents averaged just 8.0 goals per game against Duke's defense in 2015 ... That ranked the unit second in the ACC and 12th nationally in goals against average ... The squad also averaged 6.9 caused turnovers a game a year ago.
