No. 20 Rowing Travels to Pac-12 Challenge

DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 20 Duke rowing team officially begins its spring slate Saturday at the Pac-12 Challenge at Redwood Shores Lagoon in Redwood City, Calif. The Blue Devils will take on No. 9 Stanford and UCLA as part of the event.

Duke will send its V8, 2V8 and V4 to the Challenge. The Blue Devils' V8 begins the day at 12:30 p.m. ET versus UCLA with the 2V8 taking on the Bruins at 12:50 and the V4 at 1:00. In the evening session, Duke's same three boats in the same order will face the Cardinals at 6:20, 6:40 and 7:10 p.m.

Coverage of the team at the Pac-12 Challenge will be available on host Stanford's twitter account, @stanfordrowing, and @Pac12Challenge.

"We're very excited to line up against Stanford and UCLA," first-year head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno said. "They are two great teams and will give us a chance to test our speed against some West coast powerhouses. A big thanks goes to Stanford for hosting."

Last weekend Cooke Carcagno guided Duke to four victories in five races at the Carolina Cup scrimmage on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. The Blue Devils' 2V8 was named the ACC Crew of the Week after winning its race in 6:37.6 to edge Clemson (6:39.6) and North Carolina (7:00.4).

Duke finished second overall at the Carolina Cup with 89 points, behind the Tigers' 90 and the Tar Heels' 78.

Following the Challenge, the Blue Devils have a weekend off before racing at the Virginia Dual on Saturday, April 9.
