Leona Maguire is set to compete in the LPGA ANA Inspiration on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club from March 31 through April 3. The ANA Inspiration is the first LPGA major tournament of the 2016 campaign
Maguire will miss the Duke women's golf tournament in Athens, Ga., April 1-3 as the Blue Devils will be playing in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
Currently the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, Maguire is also listed No. 3 in the latest Golfweek Individual rankings. She has totaled a 72.17 stroke average in 2015-16, while totaling the individual victory at the Tar Heel Invitational. Maguire owns four top 10 and six top 20 finishes in six tournaments.
A native of Cavan, Ireland, Maguire was awarded the Mark H. McCormack Medal, 2014-15 ANNIKA Award and WGCA National Player of the Year as a freshman with the Blue Devils. She collected a school-record 70.78 stroke average, while notching eight top five and 10 top 10 placements out of 11 tournaments during the 2014-15 campaign. The First Team All-America, ACC Player and Rookie of the Year totaled three victories on the season at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, ACC Championship and the South Bend Regional.
Fans will be able to follow the ANA Inspiration via the Golf Channel with live action Thursday and Friday from 12-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday will be live from 5-9 p.m.
