RIO DE JANEIRO – The United States women's national field hockey team remained unbeaten in Rio with a 3-0 shutout of India Thursday. Former Blue Devil Stefanie Fee helped the defensive unit notch its first clean sheet of the 2016 Olympic Games as the U.S. squad moved to 4-0 in group play.
With a total of 12 event points, Team USA enters a Saturday matchup with Great Britain having secured a spot in the Olympic quarterfinals.
Katie Bam tallied two goals and Katie Reinprecht added a third for the U.S., with a key tackle by Fee in the third quarter setting up Bam's second score.
Team USA wraps up group play against the British Saturday at 5 p.m. ET, with the match being broadcast live on CNBC. The Olympic quarterfinals begin Monday in Rio.
