DURHAM, N.C. – As the Duke women's soccer team enters the third week of the regular season, Blue Devil freshman
Brooke Heinsohn has been called into training with the United States Under-20 Women's National Team from Sept. 1-19 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif.
Head coach Michelle French has named 20 players to the three-week camp roster.
Heinsohn, a native of Norfolk, Mass., will redshirt the 2016 campaign with the Blue Devils due to her training with the national team in preparation for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which will be held in Papua New Guinea from Nov. 13 through Dec. 3.
The United States will face Brazil, England and the Korea Republic in tournament play at the end of the camp.  Each of the match days, which include Sept. 14, 16 and 18, will feature a doubleheader with the USA playing the second match of the day.  The winner of the competition will be based on the total points with the first tiebreakers being overall goal difference and then total goals scored.
All matches will be streamed live on ussoccer.com.
Heinsohn, a 6-1 goalkeeper who hails from Norfolk, Mass., led The Rivers School to a 16-0-3 record and the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class B tournament championship as a senior.  She allowed only two goals in 10 matches and recorded shutouts in all three NEPSAC tournament games.
