DURHAM, N.C. – The 2016 Duke Football season kicks off on Saturday, September 3rd at 6:00 PM. The completion of the current phase of construction brings exciting transformations both inside and outside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium that will enhance the game day experience for all of our guests. The work is still ongoing and we appreciate your patience as we progress into the future of Duke Football and Duke Athletics.
To help all guests prepare for game day, we want to highlight some of the biggest changes to Duke Football Game Day this season related to:

Duke vs. North Carolina on Thursday, November 10th – Brooks Field will host a Thursday night, primetime game as Duke takes on North Carolina. Due to the impact of this game on daily campus operations, specific information regarding parking & traffic operations and game day events will be announced closer to game day. Please check www.goduke.com/gameday for updates.
Game Day Security Policies – New security measures will be in place for the 2016 Football season, including metal detector screening prior to entry, a no bag policy, and no stadium re-entry. New Names & Spaces
New spaces in and around Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium made possible by generous supporters of Duke Athletics include:
• Blue Devil Tower – press box and premium seating on the west concourse
• Stadium Gates:
Wilson Gate – East concourse entry
Bostock Gate – North concourse entry
Powers Gate – West concourse entry
Finch-Yeager Bridge – elevated entry to Blue Devil Tower from Bassett Drive
• Scott Family Athletics Performance Center – located across from Cameron Indoor Stadium, the new home to game day services including the Duke Ticket Office, Johnson Family Team Store, and ATM.
• Tribull Plaza – pedestrian plaza between Cameron Indoor Stadium and Scott Family Athletics Performance Center that extends from Whitford Drive to the Bostock Gate
Parking and Traffic Updates

• New Early General Public Parking Lots – The Jogging Trail Lot on NC-751/Cameron Blvd. and the Circuit Drive Lots off of LaSalle Street will open at 7:00 AM each game day. All General Public Parking Lots open at least three (3) hours prior to kick-off. For the NC Central game on September 3rd, all general public parking lots will open at 2:00 PM.
• Frank Bassett Drive Closed to Thru Traffic – Due to game day activities, Frank Bassett Drive will be closed to thru-traffic at all times on game day. The only entry/exit point for Bassett Drive permit holders is the intersection of Frank Bassett Drive and Science Drive. The only entry/exit point for the Grounds Lot is from NC-751/Cameron Blvd.
• Towerview Road Construction and One-Way Traffic Restrictions – Due to ongoing construction on Towerview Road between Science Drive and Union Drive, traffic in this area will be restricted to one lane. Beginning at least three (3) hours prior to each game, Towerview Road will be limited to one-way traffic heading east from Science Drive to the roundabout at Wannamaker Drive. For the NC Central game on September 3rd, one-way traffic will begin at 2:00 PM. One-way traffic flow restrictions will end one (1) hour post-game. Outside the restricted traffic times, temporary traffic lights will control vehicle flow through the impacted area.
Enhanced Ticket Office Operations
To better serve our game day guests, the Duke Ticket Office has undergone several upgrades to facilities and services for the 2016 season.
• New Ticket Office Locations– The Duke Ticket Office has relocated to the new Scott Family Athletics Performance Center with eight (8) exterior ticket office windows for General Will Call and game day sales. The Wilson Gate also features a new permanent ticket booth for game day sales (cash, credit/credit). Blue Devil Tower Will Call is located at the temporary ticket booth on Frank Bassett Drive outside the Powers Gate. All will call and sales locations open two (2) hours prior to kick-off.
• Digital Ticketing Now Available – Guests purchasing tickets through the Duke Ticket Office can now log into their account at www.goduke.com/tickets to print tickets at home, access digital tickets on a mobile device via a QR code, and digitally transfer tickets to friends and family. All tickets will be scanned at the stadium gates for entry.
New Game Day Experiences
With new events both inside and outside the stadium, guests of all ages will enjoy new events on Football game days. Check out the 2016 Duke Football Game Day Map to view all of our game day event spaces.
• Pre-Game Festivities – The Coca-Cola Fan Zone has a new home on Frank Bassett Drive with Blue Devil Tower as a backdrop for inflatables, music, and an expanded array of activities for all ages. Join the premier pre-game tailgate in Club Blue Devil now located outside the Bostock Gate on McClendon Plaza between Cameron Indoor Stadium and the Krzyzewski Center. The Coca-Cola Pre-Game Radio Show is now on Tribull Plaza next to Cameron Indoor Stadium and starts one (1) hour prior to kick-off.
• Halftime Activities – In addition to the weekly performance by your Duke University Marching Band, different Duke Athletics team will be greeting fans on the Blue Devil Tower concourse behind Section 30.
Stadium Services Updates
Guests will notice many changes around the Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium concourse. Check out the 2016 Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium Map to see what's new near your seating location.
• New West Concourse – The opening of Blue Devil Tower provides an enhanced game day experience not only for club seat and suite holders, but all guests at Brooks Field. The new west concourse, shaded under the cover of the club level seats above, features six (6) permanent concessions stands operated by Blue Devil Concessions and five new restroom facilities – two for men, two for women, and a set of four (4) gender-neutral, accessible family restrooms.
• Guest Services Desks – Outside the stadium, Guest Services Gazebos are located in Blue Devil Alley next to the Krzyzewskiville sign and in the Coca-Cola Fan Zone on Frank Bassett Drive. Inside the stadium, the Guest Services Desks are located inside the Bostock Gate behind Section 19 and on each floor of Blue Devil Tower. Visit any of these Guest Services locations for game day flip cards, information, lost and found, and general assistance.
• First Aid/EMS Locations – Additional first aid stations are now available inside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, located on the concourse behind Sections 4, 20, and 28 and on each floor of Blue Devil Tower. For medical assistance, please visit the nearest first aid station or contact the nearest staff member.
• Pardon Our Progress – As construction continues on stadium infrastructure and the new east concourse. Full-service tents for concessions and merchandise will be in place to serve guests on the east side of the stadium.
Accessibility Accommodations

• Enhanced Accessible Seating Areas – In addition to the east and west field level accessible seating areas, new accessible seating areas are located at the top of the seating bowl from Section 20 to Section 32 and for premium seating guests in Blue Devil Tower. All accessible seating locations are assigned, ticketed seating areas and can be purchased through the Duke Ticket Office prior to or on game day. • New General Public Accessible Parking Lots – General public accessible parking is available outside the Wilson Gate (east entry) in the Blue Zone B-4 Lot on Wannamaker Drive and Edens Lots on Towerview Road. Access to both parking locations is available off of Duke University Road.
• Accessible Lift-Equipped Vans – are available for guests needing wheelchair lift assistance to/from the stadium. Drop-off/pick-up points at the stadium are located outside the Wilson Gate (east entry), at the Whitford Drive circle (Bostock Gate, Duke Ticket Office, north entry), and at the Grounds Lot bus stop (Powers Gate, Blue Devil Tower, west entry). Please notify a parking lot attendant upon arrival to request assistance.
NCAA Football Rule Changes for 2016
For additional information on rule changes approved by the NCAA for the 2016 football season, a full list of key changes is available from the NCAA here.
• Sliding Ball Carriers as Defenseless Players – A ball carrier who obviously gives himself up and goes into a feet-first slide is protected as a defenseless player by the targeting rules.
• Protecting the Passer from Low Hits – Tacklers may not make forcible contact against the passer at or below the knee.
• Instant Replay Reviews of Targeting Fouls – Instant replay reviews will include all aspects of the action to determine if a targeting action occurred. The replay official may create a targeting foul if egregious action is not called by the officials on the field but this kind of review cannot be initiated by a coach's challenge.
