DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse program will feature one of the nation's top freshman classes this year, according to recruiting class rankings released last week by Inside Lacrosse. The Blue Devils' class was ranked No. 8, while the group was also represented on the publication's list of the Top 50 Freshmen.
“We expect big things from this group as they are a great blend of accomplished students, championship experienced athletes and exceptional personalities,” said head coach Kerstin Kimel. “We fully expect that many of them will be poised to contribute on the field immediately and our staff is excited to work with and develop them to their full potential. Most importantly, I am confident that these student-athletes will contribute to the unique fabric of the Duke community and go on to represent and serve our university and athletic program with tremendous pride, spirit and class.”
Blue Devil rookies Catherine Cordrey and Gabbe Cadoux were both listed among Inside Lacrosse's Top 50 Freshmen, and classmates Sam DeBellis, Callie Humphrey, Lindsey Reynolds and Lexi Rieu all appeared on the publication's watch list.
