DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke University duo of Brooke Heinsohn and Karlie Paschall have been called into U.S. Soccer Under-20 Women's National Team training camp by new head coach Jitka Klimkova, which will take place April 8-15 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in San Diego, Calif.
The Blue Devil tandem were two of 24 players called into action. The squad will take on UCLA Friday, April 14 at 10:30 p.m. (ET) at the University of San Diego.
In February, both Heinsohn and Paschall traveled to La Manga, Spain with the U-20 team and helped the U.S. defeat Norway (8-2) and France (2-0), while falling to Germany (2-1).
A native of Norfolk, Mass., Heinsohn enrolled at Duke in the spring, after missing the fall campaign as she competed with the U-20 National Team in the U-20 World Cup played in Papua New Guinea. The 6-1 goalkeeper was the top net minder in the class coming out of high school. She was the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year for 2015-16 and 2015 NSCAA All-America, while collecting 49 shutouts in 58 high school appearances for The Rivers School.
Paschall, who hails from Brentwood, Tenn., has competed on many different U.S. national teams ranging from U-14 through U-19 over the years. Listed as the No. 9 overall recruit in the 2017 class, Paschall signed with Duke in February and will be a freshman with the Blue Devils in the fall. She was a 2015 and 2016 NSCAA Youth All-America, while collecting 60 goals and 32 assists in her final two years of high school.
