Men's Tennis Starts Year Ranked in Top 25

TEMPE, Ariz. – Ten days before the beginning of the 2017 spring campaign, the Duke men's tennis team has earned the No. 25 ranking in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, according to an announcement by the ITA on Wednesday. The Blue Devils ended the 2017 campaign at No. 35.

Duke is one of five Atlantic Coast Conference teams to be ranked among the ITA's top 25, joining No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 12 Virginia and No. 21 Florida State. The Blue Devils have finished within the top 15 of the final ITA poll in six of the last eight years. The ACC trailed only the Big 12 for most top-25 teams as the ACC had five and Big 12 six.

The Blue Devils open the spring campaign Saturday, January 13 in Scottsdale, Ariz., against Arizona State. First serve is slated for 3 p.m. ET.
