DURHAM, N.C.—STX and Inside Lacrosse recently announced the partnership with ESPNU to air the remaining five chapters of “The Season 2018.” The project is a year-long video and multi-platform digital content series highlighting perennial power lacrosse programs Duke, North Carolina, Ohio State and Syracuse.
ESPNU's coverage begins with Chapter 6, which will air on Thursday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The chapters feature an inside look at games, player interviews and human interest pieces.
“ESPNU's interest in airing 'The Season' is incredibly exciting, and validates the work that we've done in the first five Chapters and all the additional content since last September,” IL Publisher Terry Foy said. “It's awesome to be able to offer this additional exposure to these four great teams, and I can't wait for new audiences to discover 'The Season.'”
“Nearly 50 years ago, STX revolutionized the game of lacrosse by developing the first synthetic lacrosse head. Ever since that day, we've continued to push ourselves to find new and innovative ways to spread the game of lacrosse throughout the world,” commented Joel Layman, STX Lacrosse Director of Marketing “The Season is just another unique platform that we developed with Inside Lacrosse to bring an unprecedented look at what it takes to play at the elite college level. We are thrilled that the Worldwide Leader has recognized The Season as content that aligns with their level of production and entertainment.”
The first five Chapters of “The Season” debuted between October and March, and the series is supported by live social media content and interactive social programs — all available and integrated at www.theseason2018.com. The first five Chapters are approaching nearly 200,000 views across its YouTube channels.
Enlisting the services of prolific film-maker Jason Johnson and Baltimore-based agency Mission Media, “The Season” documents the on-field and off-field lives of coaches and players over their nine-month journey toward hoisting the hardware on Memorial Day Weekend. The Blue Devils, Tar Heels, Buckeyes and Orange have combined 19 national titles and include the 2017 NCAA runners-up.
