Atlanta Dream to Host Duke Alumni Outing Aug. 9

DURHAM, N.C. – The WNBA's Atlanta Dream will be hosting a Duke Alumni night Tuesday, Aug. 9 encouraging Blue Devil fans to cheer on Dream center and Blue Devil alumna Elizabeth Williams at 7 p.m., in McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, Ga.
The Atlanta Dream will be taking on the Los Angeles Sparks, which features Duke alumnae Chelsea Gray and Alana Beard. Blue Devil fans get an extra treat being able to watch three of the greatest Duke women's basketball alumnae on the court at the same time.
Williams, a 2015 Duke graduate, is in her fourth season in the WNBA and third with the Atlanta Dream. She was the 2016 WNBA Most Improved Player, after averaging 11.9 points and 8.1 rebounds for the Dream and was selected to the 2017 WNBA All-Star game. Williams had her jersey retired at Duke on Dec. 29, 2016, marking only the third Blue Devil in school history to have her jersey hung in the rafters of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Special ticket prices for Duke fans will be provided by clicking on the attached link. Tickets will include an exclusive meet and greet with Williams following the game.
Members of the Blue Devil coaching staff along with support staff are expected to attend the contest in Atlanta and are encouraging fans to do so as well.
