DURHAM, N.C. – In a tightly played contest, the ninth-ranked Duke women's soccer team (7-1-7, 2-0-6 ACC) battled to a 1-1 draw against Notre Dame (9-5-2, 3-3-2 ACC) Thursday evening at Koskinen Stadium.
The Blue Devils used a late first-half goal to grab a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break. The Fighting Irish broke through with the equalizer with less than five minutes left in regulation to send the game into overtime, marking Duke's eighth overtime match of the season.
Neither team conceded a goal across the two overtime periods en route to Duke's seventh tie of the season. With the result, the Blue Devils extend their unbeaten streak to 13 games, while tying the school record for most ties in a season.

Ella Stevens cashed in on her eighth goal of the season. The senior connected on a cross from sophomore
Delaney Graham at the 18-yard line, firing a shot to the back of the net to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the first 45.
Notre Dame controlled the momentum in the second half of action before finally breaking through with the equalizer in the 86
th minute. Olivia Wingate broke away for a one-on-one with the goalkeeper to put the Fighting Irish in the scoring column and make it a 1-1 contest.
Both teams created opportunities across the two overtime periods, but neither could scratch across a goal as the contest ended in a tie.
Duke closed out the match with a 14-8 advantage in shots, while Notre Dame held the advantage in corner kicks (3-1). Redshirt junior
Brooke Heinsohn finished with two saves on the evening, while Duke also collected a pair of team saves in the contest.
The Blue Devils remain home this weekend for the final home finale at Koskinen Stadium. Duke will host Syracuse on Sunday, Oct. 27, for a 1 p.m. matchup, marking Senior Day for the 2019 Blue Devils. The contest will air live on ACC Network Extra.
