Chi Nets 100th-Career Singles Victory
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Meible Chi collected her 100th career singles victory Saturday afternoon to highlight the second day at the Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Chi, who is tabbed No. 18 by the ITA, outlasted NC State's Lana Mavor 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 to become the 26th player in Duke women's tennis history to reach the 100-win plateau.
As a team, the Blue Devils went undefeated in both singles and doubles action. In doubles, Kelly Chen/Chloe Beck defeated Oregon's Allison Mulville/Rifanty Kahfiani 8-7 (1).
Aside from Chi's victory, Margaryta Bilokin defeated Lexi Keberle of NC State 6-3, 6-2 while Beck took down Liz Norman 6-2, 6-3. Hannah Zhao and Summer Dvorak rounded out the undefeated day as Zhao secured a 6-1, 7-5 win over Marta Gonzalez-Ballbe and Dvorak's 6-1, 6-3 win over Tulane's Lauren Gish.
Duke will be back in action Sunday in Chapel Hill.
