Julia Boyet is Bull City-bound, as Duke softball head coach
Marissa Young announced the signing of the utility player.
The St. Louis, native will join the Blue Devils after she wraps up her career at Cor Jesu Academy. Boyet has enjoyed a successful four seasons at Cor Jesu, nearly rewriting the record books while there playing under Ashleigh King's tutelage.
A four-year letter winner, Boyet set Cor Jesu career records in batting average (.468), RBI (101), hits (162), home runs (11), triples (10), doubles (34) and runs (109). She earned Team MVP and All-Region honors her sophomore and junior seasons while being named All-District and All-Conference all four years. Boyet's stellar sophomore season earned her All-State recognition as well.
Boyet had a .416 average at the plate this fall for Cor Jesu, her final high school season. She amassed 20 runs, 32 hits and 21 RBI on 20 singles, 11 doubles and a home run.
During her junior year, Boyet batted .549 with a .600 on-base percentage and .817 slugging percentage. In 71 at bats, she tallied 39 hits by the way of 27 singles, seven doubles, three triples and two home runs.
Boyet's sophomore season thrusted her on the national softball stage as she set five single-season records. While posting a .547/.583/.925 clip, the sophomore totaled 58 hits, 35 RBI, 33 runs, 13 doubles and seven home runs to set single-season records at Cor Jesu. In 118 plate appearances, Boyet struck out just once during the campaign.
Her inaugural high school season on the diamond brought a .355 batting average. She poted a .505 slugging percentage and tallied 25 runs and 18 RBI in 33 hits. Boyet was no stranger to being on base with 25 singles, three doubles and four triples. She slammed one home run on the year.
On the travel ball scene, Boyet has played three seasons for Top Gun Academy Gold as a catcher and utility player. In 2017, her squad made a USSSA National Championship appearance. Prior to being with Top Gun Academy Gold, she spent four seasons for the St. Louis Fusion Gold playing second, catcher and outfield.
The daughter of Adam and Erica Boyet, Julia was born on March 21, 2002, in St. Louis, Mo. She has one younger sister, Elise. Off the field, Boyet is an Admissions Ambassador at Cor Jesu Academy while being involved in National Honor Society, Exploring Careers in Health Occupations Club and earned academic high honors each year.

"My favorite softball memory was playing a 17 inning sectional game in my sophomore year. It was by far the longest and toughest game I have ever played but it taught me the importance of sticking together as a team and pushing through challenges."
